I know, it might sound a little crazy to some of you when I say that getting organized will improve your love life, but stick with me for a sec! In particular, today I'm thinking about when you're single and on the market. (I'll post another article about how it improves existing relationships later on!)
Being disorganized affects absolutely every aspect of your life. Do any of these sound familiar?
- You're embarrassed to bringing a date home to your place, because your bed is covered in laundry and there's a funky smell in the kitchen.
- You just feel kinda gross. Definitely not like a strong, sexy, confident woman.
- You have absolutely no idea what to wear on a date. What happened to that sequined top? Why do you only have one shoe?
- You hate when your date asks you what you do "for fun." You'd love to say you take a hip hop dance class, are writing a novel, and just finished reupholstering a thrift store gem, but really? All you have the energy for when you get home is zoning out and watching Netflix.
- Honestly, you don't even feel like you have the energy to go out or put yourself out there. Maybe you should just get a cat.
Now picture each of these scenarios for your ideal organized, motivated self.
What does your apartment look like when you open your front door? Maybe you light some candles on the side tables, have fresh flowers on the kitchen counter, and your place smells like the clean laundry you did earlier.
Speaking of laundry: that sexy sequined top? You're wearing it. Because you finally cleared out your closet and found it somewhere in the back.
What do you do for fun? Well, you finally admitted to yourself that you were never going to reupholster that chair, but letting go of that plan gave you a little extra energy to start writing again. You even found a hip hop DVD earlier, and have tried it a couple times. (That totally counts as taking a dance class, right?)
Basically, you just feel... better. Your energy is up, your smile is bright, and you are definitely turning heads and feeling confident. And really, that's what's most attractive, when you get right down to it.
